Maggie Walker Community Land Trust recently sold its first home in Chesterfield, thanks to a Community Development Block Grant of $500,000 from the County. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held for the home, which is in the Dale District, on Wednesday, September 18th.
Dan Cohen, Director of Neighborhood Development for Chesterfield, spoke at the event: “Everybody needs a place to rest, everybody wants to have a home. For most of us, a home is a place to feel safe. A home is a place to raise a family.”
MWCLT currently has three other homes in Chesterfield that will be on the market later this fall, and more are sure to come.
